One of the most popular players in the history of professional indoor soccer in Baltimore, is now entering his 15th year as the Director of the Pro Socer Academy, his summer instructional program. As a professional soccer player for 20 years, Mike played in the Norh American Socer League(MISL), and National Professional Soccer League(NPSL).

Mike's career in Baltimore began in 1981 with the MISL's Blast, Mike earned six All- Star honors and the 1983-1984 Championship. He was also named 1983 Defensive Player of the Year, 1987 Offensive Player of the Year, and as a member of the MISL's All decade Team in 1988.

In 1991 Mike's playing career took a new turn when he accepted a position as the Blast's Assistant Coach, a move that would prove valuable for Baltimore indoor soccer later in the 1990's. In 1992 Mike joined the Baltimore Spirit(NPSL) as a Player/Assistant Coach. During the NPSL All Star break that year, he coached the Eastern College All Stars to a victory over the west.

In 1995, Mike assumed the Head Coach position for the Spirit but after three seasons he stepped away from the professional game in the spring of 1988 to devote all of his attention to his Pro Soccer Academy.

Mike Stankovic has taken his love for the game and passed it on to Maryland's youth. He preaches good sportsmanship while instilling confidence to the participants and helps them better enjoy the game of soccer. Over the last thirteen summers , more participants have attended the Mike Stankovic Pro Soccer Academy than any other formal soccer instructional program in the state of Maryland.
